When IDW supplied us with an early look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #17 by Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz and Ben Bates, I confess I gave brief pause. I was stoked to see the relaunched comics debut of the previously 1987 animated series-centric Neutrinos, but wasn't sure how the characters would be incorporated into a series that's a bit more rooted in classic comics continuity. Fortunately their appearance molds to Utrom lore rather than working to explain away Krang as a former reptilian bro. That all said, fans who pick up the issue will finally get to see just what General Krang did to displace the elf-ish space warriors' wasted home planet back in issue #7. Turns out Dask and friends aren't quite the pacifists I was expecting, although they've retained appropriately outlandish hairstyles.
From IDW's official solicitation info:
You can check out seven pages from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #17 below. He is a warlord, a genius, and a squishy pink brain. He is General Krang. One of the most signature villains in TMNT history, Krang has an arsenal and wit unlike any other villain. This issue starts a story arc that reveals Krang's master plan and sees the TMNT come into direct confrontation with one of their mightiest enemies!
