And yes, that's Storm with a mohawk. The universe is righting itself after all.

Okay, I really really really hope that's an alternate reality Storm because I HATE her with the mohawk. It just doesn't suit her. They also better not ruin her character. Right now I'm anticipating the new Wolverine and the X-Men Date Night issue, and I'd hate to see her image ruined.

But actually the more I look at it, the more I like the idea of this new team.
My only gripe is Storm. Don't get me wrong - I love the visual (the mohawk totally fits the vibe of X-Force), but I thought the whole point of X-Force (at least the modern version) was that they are a bunch of stone-cold killers who believe the ends justify the means. That certainly doesn't fit with Storm's ethics (unless she's gone through some dramatic changes recently).
Of course, this Mohawk storm could actually an alternate-reality Strom from a 'dark and twisted dystopian universe' (although they already did that with AOA Nightcrawler...)
maybe she is there to fill the ¨dark version from dystopian universe¨ token

She stabbed Callisto in the heart in unarmed combat, she damn near killed Mastermind in Uncanny X-Men #175 and he had no idea she was willing to kill the X-Men to get to him, she killed the demon N'Astirh at the end of the Inferno crossover...and Cyclops chastised her for taking a life. Since Chris Claremont left the X-books in the early 90s, Storm has been regressed to a passive, den mother versus the bad ass he evolved her character to be before his initial departure from the books. He was trying to take her back there when he returned to the books a few years ago, but he was fired before he could see the storyline through. Sam Humphries is clearly a fan and has done his research, because Storm is a killer.

October 10 2012 at 6:00 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI was interested in this before, when it was first announced, but now I'm really intrigued. I like Bishop, but he's one of those characters that it seems like no one knows what to do with. I'll check this out just to see what role he's given here. Hopefully he's not the villain.
Also curious to know who's going to lead the team. Storm is the obvious choice, but depending on how much force this X-Force is willing to employ, maybe its Psylocke giving orders.
This cover has won me over a little bit. Puck has never looked so badass, I like Storm's and Psylocke's new costumes, and I'm intrigued about the Fantomex character. Might give this a shot.

THANKS GOD STORM IS WEARING PANTS!
I'm not going on a whole "zomg all women in comics are naked" thing but No one has drawn storm in anything but that damned black bathing suit since before Jean died the second time. It was just getting f-ing old and boring so any sort of original costume is a blessing to me.
seems like at this point they are just like eff it with marriages, not even gonna bother explaining anymore. marriages are hard to write. next week sue and reed. week after that northstar.

October 10 2012 at 12:55 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyStorm's costume looks pretty good actually - shows some skin but is actually more revealing than Psylocke's LOL Wow, Psylocke actually has like everything but... oh crap is that a Neru collar? Ohhhh nooo... IT IS A REBOOT! OHHHH NO! IT'S NEW52!!!???!
Just kiddin' there. I like the line up - although will someone tell me WHY the hell they are giving Storm a frickin' mohawk again? I mean c'mon, she had it in the mid 80s because it was "kewl" back then. A mohawk like that just looks dumb now. I mean I technically sorta grew up with mohawk Storm, but honestly I like non-mohawk storm better.
Honestly, that's my only gripe. Other than that, I'm happy to see Storm being a badass again. Although then again.. she was kinda badass in the early 00's too...
But it's a cool line up - nice to see lesser used characters like Puck and Spiral and EVA I presume as Lady Fantomex is an interesting choice. So I take it what? Bishop's back on the side angels again?
Mohawks are ******* awesome! Shut your dirty pirate hooker mouth! *runs off and cries*
October 11 2012 at 12:53 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySo that means Fantomex is really dead? Oh man I was hoping him to return in an amazing and unexpected way...
October 09 2012 at 11:44 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyWell my first thought was that it's Eva as Fantomex there, but maybe it's a reincarnated Fantomex. I think that could actually be more interesting, particularly with the Psylocke/Fantomex dynamic.
