First Look at Fraction, Aja and Hollingsworth's 'Hawkeye' #2 [Unlettered Preview]

I thought Hawkeye was colorblind...or was that just Bullseye?

Though I'm not sure about the series of small close-ups, the medium shot of Kate holding the coffee cup is reminiscent of an effect Fraction has Gabriel Ba do in the pages of Casanova when wanting to inject an aside in the narration.

Normally, I'd agree. But this is actually something that happens A LOT at both companies. In cycles, of course, because corporate memory is nearly as short as audience memory.

They'll put out these hugely acclaimed titles, garnering all kinds of praise from critics, hardcores, indy-readers.... and no one else. The titles will either sell poorly,... or eventually sell poorly. At which point the company will be forced to cancel them in favor of the titles that are selling well. Which most likely include either Luke Cage, Wolverine, Tony Stark, or Deadpool. (for DC, insert Batman for all of those names... or Lobo, if it's close to the end of a decade)

I'm not saying this as a cynic.... exactly. I'm just sayin, don't be too disappointed when this "renaissance" is short-lived. Be sad... but don't be disappointed, because you knew it was coming.
