Y: The Last Fan Film Does Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra Proud [Video]

This is a fan film?! For real! Nice work! This was friggin awesome! The opening is intense! I hope there is a part 2!

The plague-day sequence is shockingly professional, in pace, editing, effects, and cinematography. Once it cuts to "present" Yorick and 355, it's amateurish in pretty much every way. I think if they had just stuck to the events of the first issue, it would've been much more effective.

The plot changes and stuff (355 needs to be in Israel for much of the later story to work) are pretty jarring and don't work for me. And also yah, despite having decent production values for a fanfilm, the acting in this is abysmal. Pacing seems off (jumping halfway across the country between scenes and avoiding a lot of, well, everything in the story)

Directing style - particularly the slow build to moments and the music - reminds me of LOST. This thing looks like it has a pretty great budget for a fan film. Nice work.

This reminds me why I don't watch fan films. Its cute and fun but goddd is the acting painful. Hero and 355 especially.
