Okay, you don't have to do that. In fact, please don't do that. But I am going to make you look at an animated .gif that blends the blank and current Spider-Men promo images:

I think that it's gonna be Peter and Kaine (Scarlet Spider) together. I don't think that they'd give us an Ultimate/616 crossover we've been waiting for. Then again, I could be wrong...

March 28 2012 at 12:57 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIs there a reason they didn't draw webs for this poster? Are they both doing LOLBAT impressions at the same time?
But yeah, a crossover between 616 Peter and Ultimate Miles would be cool.
The Ultimate universe went back on a number of early "promises." I'm all for a crossover between the two, if that's what it truly is. And, as a teacher of 7th graders who have been reading the heck out of both USM, and ASM, I can say that a number of kids are looking forward to the possible crossover.
March 28 2012 at 8:32 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhy do you say "the former Ultimate Comics Spider-Man team". Did I miss the announcement where they all quit?
March 28 2012 at 1:54 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMy thoughts exactly, please tell me it isn't so!
March 28 2012 at 7:02 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe first figure should totally be Ben Reiley. The second should be Miguel O'Hara just to screw with folks expectations.
Oooh and The Slingers should guest star. THAT I might buy. ;)
I think that its to soon to see Miles in that kind of story. . . so it could feel really force to see this happening.
Still, lets wait and see.
I'm rooting for it to be just what it seems: 616 Peter and Ultimate Miles meeting. It's comics. Characters crossing over from different universes is fun, and there is the potential for pathos here if done right. I've heard that Marvel promised that 616 would never cross-over with the Ultimate universe, but who takes promises like that seriously?
March 27 2012 at 7:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMainstream universe, PLEASE take Miles away from the Ultimate universe so Peter can come back.
March 27 2012 at 7:02 PM Report abuse Permalink -7 rate up rate down ReplyI can't even keep track of the Ultimate universe anymore. Once they had to essentially reboot a universe after about only 10 years and replace, or at least, partially... wait. Now what the hell happened in the Ultimate universe?
So, you cancel a book called the Ultimates, and replace it with Ultimate Comics Ultimates...
Wait, what?
And I thought that Miles Morales was the Ultimate Spider-Man now... and someone suggested him meeting the Ultimate Peter Parker. Is that the Ultimate Spider-Man from the original Ultimate universe, or him resurrecting the one from the Ultimate Ultimate universe? Ugh... brain hurts...
They didn't reboot the Ultimate universe, they just renamed some books after the Ultimatum event. They put Ultimate Comics in every title so everybody would know exactly what they were buying, because apparently some people would see a title like "Ultimate X-Men" and buy it thinking it was in 616 or something. There is no "Ultimate Ultimate" universe. Ultimate Peter Parker is dead.
March 27 2012 at 8:13 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhatever the case, Ultimate Comics Ultimates sounds A) Utterly Liefeldian & B) ever stranger than a company called Detective Comics Comics publishing a book called Detective Comics (Detective Comics Comics Detective Comics is pretty awesome, actually... nevermind).
