Remembered by a generation of Marvel Comics fans for his contributions to the publisher's popular Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe series, Sandy Plunkett comes from the same classic school of adventure illustrators as Rocketeer creator Dave Stevens. Plunkett assisted the late master on some of his final Rocketeer work, and has endeared himself to art collectors and aficionados with his great sense of design and tightly rendered style. Colored here by Jeremy Cox, Plunkett's artwork fits in perfectly with Stevens' aesthetic legacy.

Of course, part of the fun of The Rocketeer Adventures is seeing how creators with more disparate styles pay homage to Stevens' work. So in addition to the story by Plunkett and Guggenheim, this issue also comes with stories by Bill Sienkiewicz & Peter David and Stan Sakai, as well as a pin up by Arthur Adams and John Rauch. Future issues include new work by Kyle Baker, J. Scott Campbell, Eric Canete, Paul Dini, Michael Golden, Dave Johnson, David Lapham, John Paul Leon, Louise Simonson, Walter Simonson, Chris Sprouse and Matt Wagner, among others, with covers by Darwyn Cooke.
The Rocketeer Adventures 2 #1 goes on sale next week in finer comics shops and digitally via comiXology.
The collected edition of The Rocketeer Adventures Vol. 1 is available in comics shops and bookstores, and the individual chapters can be purchased digitally via comiXology.
