Poor Grifter. Doomed to be given a sword on his back, one less leg, and be drawn by Liefeld. Seriously, what's with all the heroes using swords? Are they really that effective? I can see it working maybe for someone with super-density (ie bulletproof) but for regular heroes? Come on. I see all three of Liefeld's Lineup with swords. This must be the 90s again.
Grifter was one of the titles I was really looking forward to in the DCnU. It's been pretty unimpressive so far, and I can't say it looks like it will get any better. At least Liefeld's pitting Deathstroke against Lobo, a clash so awesome it's hard to imagine it not being exciting enough to make up for other stuff. But I can't see this Grifter title improving any time soon :(
Just when I was beginning to forget about the Watchmen prequels, I'm hit with the phrase "Liefeld Lineup." (I mean, I knew about this, but it hadn't gotten a catchy little title. Also, I'd put it out of my mind as well.)
Didn't Didio say something a little while ago about how actively pissing off the fans = big cash money? Seriously; I'm asking.
Now that you mention it, I'm surprised he doesn't look like touching anything other than Justice League. Granted, he's busy with his co-publisher work, but I would have thought he'd pass the reins over to someone else sooner or later, and Grifter would make sense as a title for him to work on when that does happen.
That's the Leifield line up? DC handled it well. They gave him the crappy titles so he wouldn't be rotated into the good ones when they did that shift. God forbid he got a hold of Azzarellos wonder woman or the fantastic Animal Man comic.
And is George Lucas intentionally trying to brush off his fans?
