2011 Year-End Infographics: The Most Successful Kickstarter Comics
As the final days of the year wind inexorably down, ComicsAlliance continues its year-end wrapup with a series of infographics about comics in 2011 by Wired Art Director (and former Comic Foundry Editor-in-Chief) Tim Leong, who previously graced ComicsAlliance with his charts summing up Comic-Con 2011. Leong returns today with an infographic breaking down the most successful Kickstarter comics of the year, with Womanthology as a notable outlier. Click through for a larger and more detailed version, and check out Leong's previous year-end infographics here.

Not to toot my own horn, which I will, cuz I'm flexible like that, but American Dark Age made 146% of it's goal and we wouldn't have been able to debut at NYCC without that.
Sure, it wasn't $100,000 but considering that I'm a nobody, I was pretty psyched to see so much indie support for us.
Nonetheless, Congratulations to Womanthology and the rest of the Kickstarters.
Those on the list and those who are not.
Wow. So I am the only one who thinks this is amazing?
Well it is!
I applaud the Womanthology for generating so much capital! That is really an achievement for the people who believe in the project as much as it is an achievement for the people who created it.
And the rest is great too. I am glad that a new way to potentially gain funding for private projects has become viable, especially after the Xeric Foundation decided to shift gears. I am sure that there are others...but Kickstarter was the first I heard about. Plus I like their approach better than say, just putting a Paypal sign up on one's site...
