Best Art Ever (This Week) - 12.15.11

Black Canary: Yes, there is a preponderance of her this week. It's somewhat coincidental. The vast matrix of sites I look at every day sometimes influence each other, and it's not uncommon to see multiple art blogs and indeed multiple artists all syncing up with posts based on a single theme or character, and those posts being reblogged and shared on other networks and so on and so on. Stuff ends up here more or less in the order I bookmark it (unless I do a secret theme, like when it was all female characters or all male characters), and that's why you sometimes see so many of one character or artist.

Virgil Finlay: Damn autocorrect function. It has been deactivated. I am transmitting my apologies to whatever dimension he's in now.

Is it just me, or is Black Canary featured on here a lot? Not complaining, because she's awesome, but I feel like I see her a lot.

Whose the redhead in the bottom right of the Bat-Women one?

Not entirely sure, but I think the "Tarzan" by Loopydave might be Mowgli.

I love how Batgirl-Steph is giving Batgirl-Barbara one of those "You stole my job" looks.

And the photobooth shot? Uh, vampires don't have reflections, so Vamp-Jubilee can't be photographed by film cameras. Digital cameras, sure... but not film.

I LOVE Alex Ross' Batman Beyond. And Phil Noto is consistently amazing.

Man, I miss Bart as Impulse...

Great selections this week! Quick correction, though. That should probably be Virgil Finlay, not Virgin Finlay. Wonderful old pulp illustrator.
