Sadly though, Dan Didio, Jim Lee, and Zack Snyder did.
So did Bryan Singer. And really, that's more of a crime than Didio and Lee combined...

I mean, I don't think he would have made a GREAT Superman, but he would have made a memorably bad and entertaining one. And besides, they're going to keep making Superman films until they can find one good enough to start a franchise with, so it's not like the role would have stuck.
