The way women are portrayed in our society? All knowing, supremely wise paragons of capability compared to stupid, ignorant and worthless men? At least that is how men and women are portrayed in most TV commercials. I cant remember the last time a guy in a commercial for anything food or housewares related were shown as anything other than pathetically worthless."

I fear that if your entire conception of society and gender portrayal in it is based on TV commercials you may be taking a rather limited view. By the way, have you ever seen a Coors commercial?

The tone of this article is absurd. Leaving aside the dubious quality of the comic in question, the fans don't OWN Starfire. DC is entitled to violate her however they see fit.

Just like how marvel tossed aside decades of Spider-Man being moral and responsible to deal with the devil because he can't handle the idea of the death of an ancient old woman.

Not that I'd feel bad anyways, but that tweet makes me glad that I illegally downloaded Red Hood and The Outlaws

I didn't like Red Hood and the Outlaws, because I felt that it treated me, as a male, like I'm an idiot. I read the issue and I'm not going to lie, it didn't blow me away. DC decided that I would prefer to see Starfire posing in a bikini while two guys talked about how hot she was instead of creating an enthralling story starring three characters with whom I actually cared about. I mean the comic was around twenty pages long and overall nothing happened in the issue, I felt ripped off. I'm offended because I feel that DC thinks I'm some loser who lives in his moms basement and all it takes is a little cleavage to keep me entertained. I like women just as much as the next guy, but it takes going to take more than this poor writing for DC to keep getting my money each month.

There are better ways to adapt an all ages character into a comic book targeted at teens. I mean come on, just look at some of the stuff they did for Harley Quinn before Suicide Squad.
