Originally, Superman was raised in an orphanage and could lift heavy objects as a baby. I can see why they switched that up, but it's nice to think about sometimes when people are Very Serious about the topic.

Were you afraid of being trolled in the comments again?
"World's Finest." I loved that. :D

Favorite line of the whole thing
"Superman's unrelenting optimism and belief in the goodness of people is his most potent weapon."
I wish DC knew that.
Amen. I think reading the new description of Superman is the book that made me laugh out loud and shake my head the most. Granted that Superman hasn't always been so optimistic (see the 50's books where he is often a jerk), that is the iconic nature that this generation has grown up with and I think fits the character the best. It is also why he pairs so well with Batman: Superman sees the good in people and believes so until proven otherwise. Batman, hopes for good but expects and prepares for evil. Anything else is not Superman, but a brooding lump with muscles.

Short story: it was something Roberson introduced as a back-end pilot for a new ongoing series, but the relaunches all pretty much killed that idea.
