S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Agent Coulson may seem like a bit of a bore given his by-the-book approach to dealing with billionaire industrialists and Asgardian gods in the Iron Man films and Thor, but it's hard not to admire his unflappability at the heart of the Marvel movieverse's biggest crises (that are sure to escalate in next summer's The Avengers). On the Thor DVD/Blu-ray released on September 13 Agent Coulson will finally get some deserved screentime of his own in Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant, a self-contained short film starring Clark Gregg that helps explain a certain scene from 2008's Incredible Hulk film. See Marvel's new clip from the short after the jump.

The Consultant is the first of at least two Coulson adventures, with Marvel One-Shot: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer... on the way later. Our guess is it might pop up on the Captain America: The First Avenger DVD/Blu-ray when it sees release.
