"We are professionals in the entertainment industry and we think we know what we are talking about when we say that there needs to be more strong female characters out there and we know just what to do about it." - Kate Beaton
ComicsAlliance spotlighted yesterday some of the great material created by Beaton and her collaborators, but in that time they and a number of fans have contributed more drawings of Strong Female Characters, many of which can be found by tracking the #strongfemales tag on Twitter. Additionally, a dedicated Tumblr blog has been set up to archive all the artwork inspired by the team.
If nothing else, Beaton, Gran and Monardo have demonstrated through their work and that of their fans that drawing women with chests and butts facing the viewer must be really fun, perhaps accounting for a great deal of superhero comics art of the 1990s.
