NBC Turns Down David E. Kelley's 'Wonder Woman' TV Pilot

iIt is a big relief that this version will be scraped and never to be aired. Everything with this prodiction was horribile from the get-go. Starting from the costume, the horribile hair and makeup crew to the three alter ego's given to Wonder Woman. David E kelly went as fas as to get scrp the Diana to Wonder Woman changeover/spin, SAYING ''IT CHEESY'' Really David?? chessy?and you dident think for one second that your rendition of Wonder Woman was the cheesiest piece of Grabage anyone had ever seen!!?? Next time around, listen to the fans and stay true to the original formula!! Dont forget the Bionic Woman reboot disaster a few years back , that was also a horribile idea from the start, but NBC went ahead and aired the pilot and nine additional episodes that tanked all the way to the bottom of the ocean!! You messed with the original formula and now you succeeded in producing a disasterous pilot that will not be forgoten until the original story is written and produced again, mproperly.. What was Diana supossed to do?? Change into her Wonder Woman costume at the Taco Bell bathroom down the street??The Wonder Woman accesories also resembeled Batman and Batgirls accesories rather than than Wonder Woman's. her belt , the crooked ugly tiara and the elongated braclets, down to her cheap rubber Wonder Woman boots!! Big Stinker David!!!

It's sad but yet a relief. I hate that Wonder Woman is always treated like crap and over looked but the David E. Kelley series was tragic from the first utter of his name. He may be amazing in his other work but he wasn't the correct fit for Wonder Woman. Hopefully we get something good and true to her core existance now.

Is this the first show to prematurely die of Nerd Rage?

Wow. Even by '60s standards, that pilot clip was AWFUL!! No wonder it wasn't made. And apparently, there was only one voiceover announcer for superhero shows, since they used the same one as from BATMAN (and, I believe, THE GREEN HORNET).

November will be a refreshing month.

What I DO want:

JJ Abrams
Jaimie Alexander as Wonder Woman
Lynda Carter as Hippolyta

The thing is that Lynda Carter's old WW series was only successful during its first season, and marginally so. Decades of later nostalgia pandering has merely elevated it to a status that the show during its heyday simply never maintained. Even the old 60s Batman show has that ridiculous aura of backwards-looking sentimentality attributed to it, but part of this also has to do with Adam West and Burt Ward simply refusing to let it go. Carter, by contrast, has managed to age more gracefully out of the role.

However, I doubt that much of this has anything to do with NBC's continuing failure to launch successful new series. Simply put, the network threw away their chance at what would have likely been their highest profile series in quite some time.

It's sad it isn't working out, I'm not complaining w/r/t Kelley, I'm sad for Palicki. I love her from Friday Night Lights and she deserves an opportunity like this, but, obviously, things will work out in the end.
