If you're into the Greek pantheon, you may want to hit up your pal Dionysus for some soul salve. According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC's not picking up David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman pilot starring Adrianne Palicki. Was it the panned leaked script? The criticized costume? All we know for now is that test screenings earned "mixed reviews." Somehow I get the feeling "Mixed reviews" is totally the new "Everybody totally hated it, man."
As pointed out by iFanboy, NBC passing on Wonder Woman means that the fall 2011 TV season -- unless something miraculous happens -- will be pretty much devoid of live action comic book properties.
If you want to catch Wonder Woman on TV, your best bet is probably the opening of an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold on Cartoon Network later this month. It may not be a live action series, but at least it'll have an invisible jet and a heroine who doesn't cry.
There's a silver lining here, though. Nobody wanted to buy a Wonder Woman TV pilot in 1967 either, and it resulted in much better series down the road. Whether or not that'll be the case in 2011 -- or if Kelley's contribution to the character will become a pirated Comic-Con classic -- remains to be seen:
