'The Avengers' #12.1 Welcomes New Readers to the Marvel Universe [Preview]

Wolverine on that cover is probably the worst drawn pose/poorly proportioned figure I've ever seen from Bryan Hitch. I mean, geez, could those legs get any stubbier?

That and I swear it looks more like Deathstroke sewed on half of a Spider-Man mask on that masthead page.

The Avengers look creepy. The kind of creeps your mother would tell you to stay away from.

I'm just not a fan of Bryan Hitch's artwork. Never have been. The poses look really weird and the characters never look the same from panel to panel but yet he gets rave reviews for his artwork.

Wolverine's bird nose makes me giggle.

First off I'll state this. The 0.1 issue crap is well just that pure crap! So onward...
I bought this issue since I've liked the Avenger stories as of late. Yes the main Avenger book has been lacking. Yes its full of action but thats been it. I'd rather have some character development you know? The new Captain Marvel (or is it Marvel Boy,No'Var pretty much) has had no characterization since joining at all. He's just there thats it, and well it does bother me. Thor, Iron Man, Wolverine all have their own books to provide characterization but this is his only book.
New Avengers has been similar but the characterization has been way better since all characters seem to bounce off each other like they've been friends for years.
Ok now onto this Issue. It was alright for a jumping on point if you already knew the major players. As a intro to the Marvel U, it fell way short.
The only bonus I liked in this book was Ultron coming back. Though to be honest Ultron has been done to death and I was hoping that the D&A epic crafted by them would be the end of him, but atleast it gives a signaling that another awesome epic would be coming akin to Civil War (I can hope damnit!).

The main Avengers book has been slightly lackluster, definitely.

New Avengers has been really strong, though.

For some reason, Hitch's art here isn't really drawing me in.

Is it just me or has Avengers been ******* lately? I like Bendis, and absolutely love Powers, so I picked up Avengers and the more I read it the more I realized it wasn't that great. Buyer beware!!!!! Do not be fooled by the hype.
