Empire's first images of Steven Spielberg's motion capture animated The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn featured shots of its titular hero (Jamie Bell), his dog Snowy and his pal Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) but it wasn't until yesterday that a few of Herge's other creations popped up online. Filmofilia now features screens featuring the Thompson Twins (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost), Professor Calculus and a fellow who might be Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine.

Like the last batch of images, Tintin's face is notably obscured while you can practically see the pores on his supporting cast. Still, the adventurous reporter makes up for his lack of audience eye contact by arming himself against the menace of door-to-door model ship buyers.

So far the motion capture animated stills tread further from the Uncanny Valley Robert Zemeckis' films have filled, but it's hard to say how well the technique will fit Herge's cast of characters until the film debuts on December 23, 2011.
