You know the movie is going to be a flop when the trailer made by a fan on youtube looks better that the one made by the films makers. This film will be a complete flop . Shame on you DC comics for letting this happen. Even 3D effects & cgi wont save this film. DC comics & warner bros only saving grace will be to give the fans Superman vs Doom.
November 17 2010 at 12:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyRyan Reynolds IS Tony Stark AS The Green Lantern.
November 15 2010 at 5:11 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyUh, no. Not quite.
GL needs a healthy dose of gravitas, leavened with sophisticated humor. Not Ryan reading lines in Ryan-persona number one of one. (Reynolds can be excellent (see Amityville) if allowed to step out of his Van Wilder self...)
I will reserve final judgment until I see more, but not impressed.
And: Blake who? Presume she going to be the token "strong, independent, uber capable, female/woman"(tm) without whom GL is nothing more than a (shudder) typically pathetic male?
Been there. Done that. In. Every. Other. Movie/TV-Show/Commercial. Made. These. Days.
Yawn.
It may have been the clip but the CGI suit on Reynolds looks well not so great considering how far CGI has come. Hopefully what we seen is both a crappy clip and a prepolished version.

November 13 2010 at 8:02 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMaybe we won't get a Hal Jordan that isn't a obvious a-hole for once. I have no idea how the movie will be though.
Hey, isn't that costume a bit more nuanced than the one we saw previously? I think I saw some black mixed in with the green there.
On one hand, he seems more Ryan Reynolds-ish and comedic than Hal Jordan. But that also means he has a lot more personality.

November 13 2010 at 2:01 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt's nice that they keep referring to Green Lantern (the movie and Hal both) as The Green Lantern as if (a) they didn't have access to a logo that clearly lacks an initial article, and (b) Hal was the only GL, despite, y'know, Kilowog. Kilowog never gets any respect from Entertainment Tonight.
Here's hoping we get as much media title-fumbling over "The Green Lantern" as we did over "The Watchmen!"
looks really, really bad.
