LBFA Presents: The History of Hank Pym Explained [Comic]
In today's original comic, writer Curt Franklin and artist Chris Haley of the inimitable superhero webcomic "Let's Be Friends Again" sit down to do their best Wikipedia impression and explain the convoluted history of a notable comics character in a segment we call Comics, Everybody! Today's test subject: Hank Pym.

I've always loved the interpretation of Hank Pym as being a guy who was THIS CLOSE to going nuts and becoming a supervillain. He's established as having mental issues, and his technology seems basically purpose-designed to conquer humanity.
But then he met Jan, and he decided to put it off. And then he joined the Avengers, and he put it off even more. By now, he's placed "conquer the world" on indefinite hiatus.

OK Jan tricked Pym in marryinghim when he was mentally unstable. In the Ultimate Avengers she kiss Captian America which let to the big at home with her husband Hank Pym who slapped her when they were in a heated argument. Sounds like she dug her own grave in both situations. Kindalike that Kennedy woman who killed herself recently marrying Bobby Kennedy after just weeks of him divorcing his first wife knowing the Kennedy Klan is nothing but a gigantic hot mess!

Well thats bascially it she married him when he was mentally unstable. She basically dug her own grave and oh yeah in the Ultimate Version of hte Avengers she kiss Captian America like a slut. Yup that can lead to bad sistuation with her hubby!

Why isn't Hank wearing his Wasp uniform in the last panel?
It's so chronologically wrong that he's in the Yellojacket uniform (especially since it was so stigmatized by the Skrull imposter).

I love how everyone always jokingly and deliberately vaguely mentions that he slapped his wife, then someone ALWAYS spotlights himself by popping up to say that hitting his wife wasn't any big deal.

It's not so much that it's not a big deal, it's that it IS a big deal and OTHER characters do it, but Pym is the ONLY one who gets villainized for it. That's the point people continuously try to raise. Peter once backhanded Mary Jane (who was pregnant!), but we all pretend that didn't happen.
