In between all the comic book announcements and blockbuster movie screenings, "Uncanny X-Men" and "Casanova" writer Matt Fraction had a panel listed on Sunday, near the very end of the convention, that was described as "a weird spoken-word history of comics, art, and his own experiences with both and how comics -- and art -- can save your life. Also: Bruce Lee, cave paintings, Stilt-Man, and profound brain injuries."
Fraction performed the piece, which had debuted at W00tstock 2.0, for a packed crowd in total darkness, with a accompanything slideshow projected on a screen. ComicsAlliance was there to video the entire thing, and while it's hard to see Fraction himself in the dimly lit room, it's a smart, funny, and very personal reflection on comics from one of the best writers in the biz and well worth a view. Check out the video after the jump.

Thanks, Dean! I felt it was too amazing to be limited to the number of people who could fit in that room, and I'm glad other people could enjoy it.

I was so happy to be able to be at that screening, and cool to see the link so that I can share a little of that experience with friends. I thought it was a beautiful talk, particularly for comics lovers, but really just about life.
