Fans of Thor and/or Jonathan Hickman, rejoice! An "Ultimate Thor" miniseries is on the way from Hickman ("Fantastic Four") and artist Carlos Pacheco this October, as announced at the Mondo Marvel panel at Comic-Con. The four-issue miniseries will explore the reasons for the rift between Thor and his mischievous brother Loki, which somehow involves a nefarious plan by Loki, Ragnarok, and... Nazis during WWII?
"It's patented Hickman madness," said editor Mark Paniccia. "Nazis. Frost giants. World World II planes crashing into Asgard. It's going to be amazing."
Update from Marvel's What's Next: Welcome to the Digital House of Ideas panel: "Ultimate Thor" will have a day-and-date release in stores and through digital distributors.
Just in case that isn't enough Ultimate goodness, Marvel also announced an "Ultimate Doom" book by Brian Michael Bendis coming in December, which will complete the writer's Ultimate Enemy trilogy. A wraparound "Ultimate Doom" cover by Bryan Hitch was projected on a screen in the hall, with the Ultimate Enemy blacked out.

Check out more art from "Ultimate Thor," including character sketches, after the jump.
