The first fully-recolored issue of Matt Fraction's indie masterpiece "Casanova" hits stands this week, republishing what was once the first two issues of the series into one lush, over-sized package through Marvel's creator-owned Icon imprint. We talked with Matt last week about the book, which he began as an indie creator before his rise at Marvel , and we've also got a 9-page preview from the first arc of the series illustrated by Gabriel Ba -- previously black and white and green -- with spectacular new colors by Cris Peter. Check them out after the the jump, and do yourself an immense favor by buying "Casanova" #1 this Thursday. (Holiday, remember?)

still undecided about this "re-issue". Oh sure I'll be having a look at it in the store and checking out the bonus/extra back-up material but it does feel like a huge about turn/slap in the face for those of us who got the originals...

Not sure I'd call it a "slap in the face", but even if the re-issues are full-colour, I'm not sure I'd want to replace my TPB with single issues.

Those of us who missed it the first time around sure don't see it as a "slap in the face."
I just hope my LCS has copies left when I get there this evening.

Wow! Never thought that a full color version could look better than the original.
I was WRONG! Plus it's two of the original issues in one.
