You had me at smashing faces, Mr. Fraction."I can't WAIT to unleash our Thor on you unsuspecting humans," said Fraction. "Things were intimidating enough when Pasqual, Matt, and I had to follow up JMS and Olivier-- that we've got to take up arms after Kieron and company's stellar stand makes it all the moreso. All we can promise you is that Thor will overflow with colossal and cosmic action, giant space gods smashing each other in the faces with hammers, and all of the earth trembling in the balance. In short: everything that has made Thor great."
Check out Marvel's preview art after the jump.

I'm happy to wait if that means John Romita Jr's not on the book. I may be alone here, but I think his art is s--t.

Was JRJR ever supposed to draw this book? I'd only ever heard Fraction and Ferry as the team, and the article linked to her only says that Romita would do the FCBD issue and only mentions Fraction as continuing on Thor after that (and the Marvel.com news release that's linked to is even clearer that it was only Fraction who would be on Thor for more than the one FCBD issue--"Matt Fraction joins THOR as new writer and teams with John Romita Jr. for FCBD special"). Whatever has caused the delay of Fraction and Ferry starting on this book, I don't think it had anything to do with Romita. In any event, I am excited to check out this book--I've never regularly followed Thor (really I've only read a handful of issues of it in my life), but I like Fraction enough to give it a shot.

yeah from what I understand it was always just a misunderstanding because of that poorly worded article from Marvel and none of it's readers paying attention to the details.
and I'm looking forward to this a lot...though at the same time I'll miss Gillen on the book.

staying far away from this...Marvel killing off Reed Richards, DC possibly killing off Oliver Queen. GREAT time to be a comics fan.

so...you're going to refuse to read this completely unrelated title because of some false internet rumors you read? well that'll sure show them.

Well,I do like both of these creators. And Ferry's art is always better served with a good colorist, which it looks like he has here. So I'll probably check this out.
