Slave Leia cosplay is pretty popular (and common) at comic book conventions not least of all because it features the lovely "Star Wars" princess in a metal bikini with a chain around her neck. After all, who can resist nostalgic, geeky sci-fi costumes with just a faint whiff of BDSM? But in the spirit of
gender-swapped characters, one fan at Emerald City Comic-Con decided to give the old favorite a new twist: being a guy.
In a sea of dudes dressed like Green Lantern and Wolverine, we cannot deny that this con-goer stood out, and caught our attention every single time he walked by.

Love it! Good for him! He's got the right build for it too!

I think it's his beard that makes it work. I'm totally serious -- it's like nothing else about it is parody except for that.
(It also looks like it's a home-made costume which makes it all the more awesome and ridiculous.)

The beard gives him a young Obi-Wan feel.
The fact that that thought occurred to me scares me.

Good for him. He has the balls to go out and do something funny. :-)
Also, not a bad home-made costume.

I saw this guy at ECCC. In fact, I was the Doctor Strange who stood behind him at the after-hours Masquerade. He would have been so much cooler if he had talked instead of standing around like a creeper. Epically awesome though his costume may be, he came off as a little weird. Then again, it's ECCC, so weird is something we're all used to.
