The United States Postal Service recently announced its stamps of 2010, including one particular set that I think will be of interest to you all: The Sunday Funnies Collection! Based on popular newspaper comic strips, the series will include stamps involving Archie, Garfield, Dennis the Menace, the cast of "Beetle Bailey," and my personal favorites, Calvin and Hobbes! While I would have vastly preferred an entire set of C&H stamps -- perhaps involving Stupendous Man, Calvinball, or snowman art -- I'm still thrilled that I will soon be able to turn the upper right-hand corner of my envelopes into a tiny, two-way mirror where my favorite boy and tiger can make faces at me and the recipients of my letters.
The stamps go on sale in July.

Nothing like picking four suck-tastic comics and one really awesome comic (Calvin and Hobbes).
I agree with the author - this should have just been a set of Calvin and Hobbes themed stamps - Stupendous Man, Spaceman Spiff, Tracer Bullet, etc...

I have to say that Calvin & Hobbes seems out of place with it's "classic" neighbors. Comics peaked in the 80's, but these others were still in print, along with a number of aslo runs like B.C., the Wizard of Id, Blondie, etc. If you want to honor the comics, do it appropriately. Keep Calvin & Hobbes, add Bloom County, Dilbert and The Far Side. Now you've got some funny stamps!

I will _so_ buy these stamps and use them. Especially on bills, tax documents and other important and serious mailpieces.
