DC's The Source blog has revealed your first look at "Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne," with a character designs by artist Andy Kubert.
"The Return of Bruce Wayne" is a six issue series beginning in April, and will follow Wayne's journey back to present day Gotham City. Since he's presumed to be returning from the ancient past, my head is full of questions (do Omega Beam blasts transform you into an immortal? Give you temporal displacement powers? Is this a "Lost" thing?...).
Blog@ and The Beat have already pointed out the storyline's seeming "Elseworlds" inspiration given Batman's seeming penchant for period costume, but I personally trust Grant Morrison to give his story more articulation than Kenner's old school "Legends of Batman" action figure line.
Bats isn't the only one in the news today, however. Wonder Woman's upcoming 600th issue has a sharp new cover by George Perez, which will arrive in shops this summer. DC's Dan DiDio is promising big changes for the Amazon in 2010, and judging from her smile, they may not involve snapping necks.

Is it just me, or does that smile look like it's forced in order to hide a look of pure terror?

I'm looking forward to the return of Bruce. While I like Dick as the main Batman, I loathe Damien as Robin. I've been following the Red Robin series religiously since it started and I'm interested to see how Tim will fit into this storyline since he is the only one who thinks Batman is still alive (him an Ra's of course).

Still think it would have made more sense if Batman just left a note that said:
"Dear Flash,
Am at the beginning of time. Come get me.
-Batman
PS- Fetch me a Snapple on the way"
Also: once Bruce is back, and Darkseid send Morrison to the beginning of time? I'd rather read him doing Anthro or something than see anymore of him on Batman.

I knew this was gonna happen.
I just thought, and hoped, it would be at least a few years.
Also, I think the events that happened during BFTC were cool, but the crossover was poo.
Maybe I was expecting too much. Did the same with Final Crisis. Blackest Night, however, friggin' rocks socks at fort knox.
I'm done with crossovers after this, though. Even though these Blackest Night stories are boss, my pockets don't wanna shell out over a hundred bucks a month, trying to keep up with everything.
Now earlier I saw some Battle of the Supermen stuff. wtf. Is there always going to be epic xovers going on now?
No regular stuff anymore?
I have stayed loyal, but we're in a recession. Ease up with this, or keep them all amazing DC.

Hello, Just a bit of advice for you young collectors today. Keep your money, if you like a particular storyline wait and buy the 'TPB'collection. This is what I do, and in time you're get used to getting your comics fix that way. Take Care.

So true. I don't care who writes it this batman through time stuff sounds ridiculous, but they are going to try to force me to buy it as well as a pile of crossover titles including azreil if it lasts that long and probably something staring animal man if I want to be able to understand what is happening in books that I have been reading for decades.

Ok, maybe it's just me but if I had a milestone 600th issue of a major female character to put out, I'd hire Adam Hughes to do the cover or at least someone that draw women well.
