Jamie Delano's "Rawbone" -- a recent four-issue series from Avatar that, from what we can tell, is entirely about pirates raping each other until they die -- is not very good. In fact, it's been referred to as "frankly, f---ing disgusting and completely insane," and considering that diagnosis came from Warren Ellis himself, that's saying something.
Even putting aside the fact that referring to your lover as a "throbbing fish" isn't exactly going to spur him to new heights of passion under the best of circumstances, we were struck by how alarmingly specific to piracy the metaphors are, and wondered how it might have gone down if Billy and La Sirena had gone into other occupations.

Mr Sims, somehow this is better than any Anita Blake or Tarot review you have ever done. Bravo to the max, good sir, bravo to the max!

Delano was always a bit of an eccentric writer but... really?
Part of me wants to read the rest of Rawbone now. A stupid, terrible part of me.

And this is the person who wrote the start of Hellblazer? Wow.
In other news, Chris, that's some pretty amazing parody work, sir.

Wait a tick, I'm confused. Is she saying he should ride her as if she were a fish, or is she saying he should ride her in the manner that a fish would ride her?
