Super heroes aren't exactly ones to indulge in adult beverage these days. In fact, the ones that do tend to serve more as cautionary tales than revelers. Mixed drinks go by many names, some of them classy and many of them tacky. Somewhere in that divide, comic book icons were commandeered by a likely wobbly-kneed public to serve as shorthand for concoctions worthy of strangers who would don underwear outside of their clothes to battle injustice.
But what does a "Spider-Man" consist of? What kind of brew is worthy of a mutant who is the best he is at what he does? Google knew, and now, after reading this, you and anyone you drink with will too.
Make that sweet Internet jump to discover cocktail recipes inspired by super powered heroes who may or may not theoretically condone having mixed hooch named in their honor...
Here are the drinks, in no particular order.
The Dark Knight • 1-1/2 oz. Sambuca • 4 oz. Cola • 1/2 oz. Homemade Grenadine • Maraschino Cherry Garnish
Build in a highball glass over ice, topping off with grenadine as float. Garnish with maraschino cherry.
