15 Comic Book Babes Who Can Kick Your Ass
JANISSA THE WIDOWMAKER: Her origin story -- and the non-consensual demon sex it involved -- was the source of a controversy that raged in Conan's letters page for years, and caused a lot of people to lose sight of what was really important about Janissa the Widowmaker, which is that she's just like Conan the Barbarian, except with dynamite gams.
THE BARONESS: A high-ranking terrorist (and the inspiration for a generation of nerds obsessing over brunettes in glasses), the Baroness once shot G.I.Joe hottie Scarlett in the head, making the villainess the first member of the Cobra organization to actually hit a target.
AGENT 355: Tasked with protecting the last living man on Earth after a "gendercide" wipes out half the population, 355 carried out her tasks by -- among other things -- straight up knocking this girl's eye out with a collapsible baton.
BIG BARDA: There are a lot of people who see Big Barda, one of the "New Gods" created by Jack Kirby, as his vision of the ideal woman: Beautiful, devoted and strong enough to bench-press a medium-sized truck.
ELEKTRA: In her ongoing affair with the hero Daredevil, the ninja assassin Elektra has redefined the "off-again, on-again" relationship to one that's more "dead-again, alive again, sometimes-actually-a-shapeshifting-Skrull-again."
DHALUA STRONG: Shockingly enough, Tom Strong's wife Dhalua (from "Tom Strong") does not particularly appreciate it when tarted-up Nazis make moves on her man.
CATWOMAN: With a career in villainy that stretches back to 1940, Catwoman is the template that every femme fatale in comics was based on, and is still so popular that even that abysmal Halle Berry flick couldn't keep her down.
ELSA BLOODSTONE: The daughter of immortal caveman monster-hunter Ulysses Bloodstone, Elsa joined up with the NextWave: Agents of H.A.T.E. team and proceeded to beat the ever-loving crap out of bad guys with whatever implements were handy.
KITTY PRYDE: In her years as one of the X-Men, Kitty Pryde -- a mutant with the power to "phase" through solid objects -- has alternately been a computer genius, a ballerina, a superhero, a ninja and a secret agent bartender. Because Chris Claremont, that's why.
AISHA: When her rogue covert operations unit ("The Losers") is being hunted down by a hundred mercenaries, Aisha's response is to blow one of their heads off with a rifle and correct them: "99." That is just how she rolls.

This was designed to avoid common choices, and go with some more esoteric characters. sure there are some iconic ones, but they're in the minority.

She-Hulk? Yes. Catwoman? Definitely. Kitty Pride? WTF?
You're all forgetting the hottest, most badass super-babe ever: Psylocke. Nobody will ever be hotter. Ever.

What a narrow and unispired list! OK, kudos for Tulip but otherwise, complete miss. Too full of main stream or nonsensical choices.
No Venus Blugenes (200ad / Rogue trooper) or any other 2000Ad babes (Tyranny Rex, Psi Judge Anderson, that vampire Strontium dog). No Tank Girl, Martha Washington, Axa, Modesty Blaise, Machiko Noguchi (AvP)? None of the lesser wet t shirt fantasies that populate Top Cow comics or their clones? How about Silver Sable, Spiderwoman or the Black canary, any character at all from the east (by which I mean Asia, not Boston).
