Hot Ink -- Strange Tales, Incognito, Sweet Tooth, Northlanders (ComicsAlliance)
Sep 3rd 11:36 PM: at the same time, though, dc is owned by warner bros and has the vertigo line which is full of creator owned series that aren't merchandise producers nor are they child friendly(though I realize this isn't really a priority for wb). I get the feeling disney isn't really going to be stepping on marvel's toes about these things, more than worrisome the icon imprint may just be inconsequential to them and go on its way (which is pretty low profile to begin with).
Batman Games -- A Brief History (ComicsAlliance)
Aug 25th 10:40 PM: there's also one based on one of the tim burton movies for snes, I remember playing that s--t at my great grandma's house all the time.
Bryan Singer to Re-Reboot 'Battlestar Galactica' (ComicsAlliance)
Aug 14th 8:42 PM: someone was like "hey who did that amazing superman movie a couple years ago? can we get him to remake battlestar galactica!? I wanna ruin that too!" and bryan said "yes. I believe I can do that."
Don't Ask! Just Buy It!: Adventure Comics, Marvels Project, Ultimate Comics (ComicsAlliance)
Aug 10th 8:02 PM: I'm also up for red herring regardless of the details, I'm a big philip bond fan, new dmz, incredible herc and echo this week too, I think...
Does Dead Mean Dead When It Comes to the Direct Market? (ComicsAlliance)
Aug 4th 8:42 PM: I feel like the cost of pamphlets could be reduced and not kill marvel or dc, maybe making the whole comics market a little more accessible to the casual shopper, but I'm one of those guys (and gals) who loves the single issue format. it does suck that they're going out the door, but buying a 20 dollar comic of superheroes seems sort of weird to me, I don't know if I'm ready to buy the next installment of iron fist in a huge chunk, but if that's the only option... maybe in the future having all these comics will be the comics equivalent of having a bunch of old wacky records and people will say we're just nostalgic, to which I probably won't object.
X-Men's 'Necrosha' Event Has Interesting Timing (ComicsAlliance)
Aug 2nd 12:33 PM: to be fair, marvel did "marvel zombies" a couple years back and it was a smash hit. they're just re-cashing in on an idea that dc is also cashing in on at the moment, both of them are taking advantage of robert kirkman and sean phillips :P
Fear of a Corporate Planet: Douglas Rushkoff on The Colbert Report (ComicsAlliance)
Jul 31st 1:01 AM: I wanna read this book so badly, I just need to get the cash to buy it... as ironic as that is...
Don't Ask, Just Buy It: Glamourpuss, Invincible Iron Man, Peanuts, Mome (ComicsAlliance)
Jul 28th 12:54 AM: yeah, the little nemo homage is sort of cool, but something about it isn't exactly working... oh and also I saw your science fiction panel in san diego, and even though you recommended two comics that I had already read and loved it was a great panel!
