Loved it. The first one was excellent, the second was phenomenal and the third completed the story in a satisfying way. Seems Nolan ended up following some famous footsteps as I recall that the dynamic of the Star Wars trilogy was very similar.

January 10 2013 at 6:07 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySame as below: watching this made me realise how much I disliked the end part of Rises. The rest of Rises was good enough, but the very end? Nope.
January 09 2013 at 10:06 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyI loved it, and I can't believe the movie's been out on Blu-Ray/DVD for ages and we've still not had a roundtable review! Come on Chris, how can the world's foremost batmanologist neglect a Bat-movie to review pish like Tank Girl!?! ;-)
January 10 2013 at 6:10 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWatching this still makes me sad that Rises was a letdown compared to the first two. Rises was a cross of Year One, Knightfall, No Mans Land, The Demon trilogy and it still somehow managed to be a disappointment, in my opinion

It seems like Nolan started working on the 'last' movie and realized there were a lot of toys he'd left in the box that he really wanted to play with. The plot of Rises could have supported two films and I think it would have let the plot breathe a little if it had been split up that way. Part one sets up his return, his relationships with Catwoman and "Miranda", and Bane's plan and ends with Bruce getting put in the pit. Part two would give us more of the No Man's Land story and maybe fleshed out Blake into a character we'd actually care about. And by spreading out the climax, maybe Bane could have gotten the sendoff he deserved.
