Guillermo del Toro Dishes On DC's Potential 'Dark Universe' Movie

I'll believe it when I see it. So far WB has successfully launched DK. That's is it. Superman is an unknown. They don't know what the hell they are doing I cannot wait for how laughably stupid JLA will be. GL was such a nightmare. It is so awesome to watch WB continually try to launch characters that are dated and foolish by even comic standards. Superman? Wonder Woman? Really? The problem is the source material sucks, sorry folks. Even Nolan hardly ever has the characters in costume or named and Batman is their premier is character.

Every character in the Nolan series was named by their name except for catwoman. Outdated characters? They're about the same age as Avengers. Source material sucks? I'm willing to bet you've never picked up a single issue of anything JLA. New Frontier, JLI, JLU, tower of babel. Plenty of other good sources they could base the film on. Its easy to tell when someone is straight shooting b.s out of their mouths.

I am really sorry to be the bearer of bad news but DC characters are dated and stupid. Wonder Woman Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. The only way DC works is in something like New Frontier it's so retro that calling yourself SUPER-man is acceptable. Have you ever really paid attention to the DC garbage you read or have you been reading it so long you don't think about it anymore? The source material is weak, the character development is weak....errr wait a minute they rebooted their world so there is no character development. Green Lanterns? Hahaha. Does anyone under 30 even refer to things as "lanterns". Please Josh, Superman, the ONLY reason you can like that trash is nostalgia it sounds ridiculous. Use your brain I know it still works.

January 08 2013 at 3:13 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThere must be a law out there somewhere in nerd/film/whatever blogs by now flat outlawing the use of the words " Guillermo del Toro" and "Confirmed".
And, really? Someone with Del Toro's track record working with WB/DC? Really?
Does anyone really beleive that WB/DC will let someone with Toro's track record loose on their Intellectual Properties? Or that Del Toro will put up with WB/DC's inevitable Head Office Mandate bullshit?
All this confirms is that someone, sometime has said "Sure, Guilly, give it a go. We'll have a look and let you know." Which I'm pretty sure is a conversation Del Toro has had with just about EVERYONE!!
Yeah, because if there's one thing DC's known for, it's being very careful to only put characters like Swamp Thing and John Constantine in the hands of directors they can trust.

No matter what they do Justice League will end up a cross between the Transformers and League of Extraordinary Gentleman movies...in all the bad ways.
This in the hands of Guillermo del Toro, though, I can get into!
-End up a cross between Transformers and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Hey Avengers did pretty well.
i would love nothing more than to have a solo swamp thing film based on the alan moore era and directed by either terrence malick or david gordon green.
January 08 2013 at 11:19 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOh God. Then we'd be hearing about THAT in every interview with Alan Moore for the next 20 years.
January 08 2013 at 8:33 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down Reply"I disassociate myself from that film because-" grumble grumble grumble media grumble grumble crooks grumble grumble.
