Iron Man Bulks Up And Gets Stealthy In New Armor Designs By Carlo Pagulayan

Hypothetical conversation:
"Hey, this stealth suit design looks dangerously close to the Tron: Legacy outfits. Think Disney might sue us?"
"Nope, they own us, remember? We'll just tell them it's cross-brand promotion."
So in the Iron Man Fat Suit (that is what I'm calling it), are his arms and legs, like, really stretched out to fit into the robot arms and legs? Is Stark bowlegged the whole time? Or is he just curled up in the middle like Krang? Personally, I like to imagine he's controlling the limbs with just his fingers and toes.

September 18 2012 at 5:50 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe one thing that really jumps out at me.....
If Land is suppossed to be the artist then why is someone else doing the designs?
It's almost as if they need to give him something to trace.....
Yeah, I went there.
It's not uncommon. Bryan Hitch designed the costumes for Ultimate Fantastic Four, but he never drew that book (Other than covers).
September 18 2012 at 8:43 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOr even the costumes and such that Alex Ross has come up with over the years that were for books he didn't draw.
Although yeah it's a funny comment. Wouldn't shock me if Land directly used some of these character model sheets just traced over them for a few shots. But again, sometimes it's good to have different artists design costumes, especially armor that's supposed to be different every issue. If Land were to do it (or even when Granov did the Extremis suit) they all tend to look too similar.
These designs are absolutely beautiful.

How much you wanna bet when the Iron Man 3 toys come out - THIS will be among them!
Although that freakin' Stealth suit is awesome! I love it! I agree with that poster who said it should be red and gold as the standard issue suit. I'm picturing a really burgundy blood red for pretty much all the black/dark grey parts, gold on the arms, mask and palms of his hands and the blue light as it is. Would look like a nice update to the Bleeding Edge armor with elements of the Movie armors, with a return to the moutless armor of the 90s
Let's be honest here....if you were a billionare playboy superhero building giant suits of hypertech war machines......it would look very similar to the action figures you played with as a kid. Just sayin'
September 19 2012 at 9:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyNow I see the resemblance between iron mans suit and the new Robocop suit. Yikes.
