Deleted 'The Avengers' Movie Scene Sees Cap Get Back Into The World [Video]

If you thought all Captain America had been up to between getting thawed out of a block of ice and teaming up with Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye in The Avengers movie was destroying punching bags, you'll be happy to know that a newly-revealed bonus scene sees Steve Rogers actually leave the gym. Debuted online by Latino Review, the new clip joins a host of previously unseen footage (including a much moodier opening centered around Maria Hill) set to appear on The Avengers DVD/Blu-ray when it drops on September 25. In the scene, Steve broods over some S.H.I.E.L.D. files, shows off his sketching skills and even runs into a familiar waitress from the film. Stan Lee also has a cameo, which is arguably more digestible than the one that wound up in the final cut of the movie. See what you think of the deleted scene from The Avengers after the jump.

To me, this is a win-win. People who liked the Avengers wanted a brainless CGI party, and people who didn't like it are glad it was shorter.

That was pretty good actually - I love Stan Lee's cameo better "Ask for her number you moron!" haha that's classic.

I can sorta see why they cut it out - it's a nice scene, but may have dragged the action down a bit. Now if this was a Nolan movie, they'd have left it in. - Bah-dum-tiss!

Y'know I was thinking they really should like edit a few of these deleted scenes together as like "one shots". Little stand alone stories that can stand on their own. Like the backup stories in a comic book. You don't really need to cut from the action to see say, Tony and Steve talking about Howard. Or Steve calling on a new girlfriend or whatever.

The Maria Hill scene already leaked could be a Maria Hill one shot, where they shoot a few pick up scenes in her quarters or her having a small flashback. I mean really you could do like an hour's worth of that stuff. 15 minutes for everyone!

I also kind of like the original Maria Hill opening rather than the opening they ended up using with Loki stealing the Cosmic Cube.
