Nicolas Cage Glows In 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' Test Footage [Video]

What is more fun that watching Nicolas Cage totally go full Nicolas Cage in the Ghost Rider movies? How about watching him do it without the special effects? Eleven minutes of deleted footage from Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance have arrived online, giving us the chance to see Cage in full skull face paint giving it all he's got.

All gloriously over-the-top acting aside -- and it really looks so much hammier without the special effects, doesn't it? -- there's something kind of spectacular about seeing Cage in that face paint and glowing headgear get-up. Seriously, they should ignore the flaming skull for the next movie and just go with this look, calling it Ghost Juggalo.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is available on DVD and Blu-Ray now, for those aching to see the finished product after this sneak.

I think the whole problem with movies and CGI now is that even WITH the special effects, the acting is hammy and overdone. Folks haven't quite figured out how to get actors to interact believably with CGI.

If you want believable you don't hire Nick Cage. Nick Cage is there to BE hammy and overdone.

On the bonus bits for "Drive Angry" theres a part of an interview where Billy Burke says the following, "So we get finished with this scene where we were totally just riffing on each other, playing off each other and Nick looks at me and says 'That's the best, it's like Jazz', how can you NOT love this guy" [paraphrased]

For some reason the way Burke said this tells me everything I ever needed to know about Cage. He legitimately loves the stuff he does but he not only loves it, he completely enjoys it at the same time and somehow he seems to make everyone around him enjoy it as much as him.
