I have mine somewhere; I don't remember grey versions, but I do remember the larger versions (I didn't pick those larger ones up).
I think I only picked up one set, but I may've picked up another. I also have a vinyl storage case with the graphics of the series: The case is black with a card inserted under clear plastic. It was primarily intended as an "after-market" case to hold your 3 3/4 inch figures much like other cases. I think I may have a plastic space ship, too, but it seems more fitting to place on a birthday cake (I believe some bakeries at the time also used these figures for their cake decorating).
I tended to use them as supplements for my other main toys; they are smaller, but aliens and robots can be smaller.
