There's a lot to complain about with DCnU Justice League. Instead of focusing entirely on his skin color - and you sound racist every time you say it, without fail - how about focus on what a terrible book it is.
Besides, way I see it they wanted a character who isn't typically identified with the League but was high profile enough to be recognizable. The other option would be Robin and THAT would have been stupid and pointless. Cyborg being in the League is fine with me. It's the League itself that isn't compelling or fun.
Ugh so cyborg will be in a justice league movie too won't he? I can't he is so POINTLESS!!! If Batman "knows stuff" and Green Lantern can make guns how useful can Cyborg be?
...dude, the entire team could be Superman and maybe Wonder Woman. Or, hell, Martian Manhunter, the guy who has all Superman's powers plus telepathy, shape-shifting, intangibility, and invisibility.
You start pulling at "Why does the Justice League need ____" and it will never end.
I think that's only an argument for people who havent read the comic the JLA is a pretty busy team back during Morrison era and Waid and everyone was kept busy. But Johns sets this team up to where Cyborg is the team information guru but besides being able to teleport and apparently creep on his teammates he doesnt bring anything to the team Batman knew stuff about Amazo . Then just seem stupid that Batman had to call Cyborg just to bring a map of Arkham
