I was skeptical at first, but then the costume grew on me even though the real story of how it came to be has been lost. Those of us die hard Superman fans know that Ma Kent made the costume from the blankets that baby Kal_El was wrapped in when he arrived on earth. I do wish that the new costume was a little more of a lighter blue. The sheild is great, but the best is the boots. Finally, the boots fit tightly. I am sure that the boots and leggings are one piece. The boots of Cris Reeve's costume always wrinkled up during an action scene and in the behind scenes of the making of Superman 2 dvd, you will see Reeve pulling his boots up. As for the texture of Cavill's costume, I don't mind it. Trunks, no trunks, it really doesn't matter that much. The thing I am trying to say really is, that no matter what the pros and cons are about the costume, we're going to go see the movie anyway. Even the nay-sayers will buy a ticket to see The Man Of Steel. After all, it's Superman!

I have been a Superman fan since I was a couple of years old and still get very excited for the next movie. I have and will always enjoy Superman movies.

What I can't wrap my mind around, however, is the muted color scheme. Sure, it's typical of Zack Snyder, but c'mon. Superman Returns had a similar thing going on. Superman is not Batman. He and Metropolis are bright and full of life, and his days are filled with crazy colorful adventures. Visually, he should reflect that. Still, I'm thankful that the reds are actually red instead of maroon this time.

Don't mind the darker colors but it just doesn't look right without the trunks. All that said, I will pass on this one. Zack Snyder hasn't really hit the mark on anything I've seen that he's made. Unless there are amazing reviews ( which I don't anticipate seeing), I'll skip it. Wish I had skipped Singer's Superman Returns but I had hope after seeing "The Usual Suspects." Reeves and Donner cast a pretty long shadow even after all these years......
