Rogue works, but the skirt over the tights is excessive.
Storm isn't character appropriate, she'd never wear heels, wouldn't identify with the need to layer, etc.
Scott's look might work better on a Scotsman, Banshee maybe, especially with the grandpa hat. Vest works.
Gambit is perfect, he's always been very American Apparel.
Jubilee looks great, but maybe could work better a little more thrift store, hair a little less coifed.
Wolvie is a miss, he wouldn't care this much. Secondhand everything, jeans, tank, flannel, leather.
Beast is nice but he wouldn't care enough to roll the pants just so, to buy those hipster boots. Big dude, fur. If it fits and doesn't get in the way in the lab, it works.
Jean is pretty great, but the wrist warmers feel showy, scarf too. She's not a model.
Fantastic effort, great style. Thanks for sharing!

Those aren't wrist warmers. Those are her sleeves.
And Storm has totally worn heels, a lot. Several of her "work" costumes have involved heels.
And I have a strong feeling the skirt over the tights (how most normal ladies wear tights) is harkening back to her days when she covered everything but her face.
Fair enough.
Sleeves or otherwise, fabric covering her hands will only get in the way. Storm's heels (while a part of her superhero costume) strike me as a casual affectation that doesn't suit the character. And while skirt+leggings is absolutely common, here they're the same color and make for an irregular shape peeking from undr the coat; minus the skirt, she's still covering everything.
Storm reminds me of this snap in the best way: http://www.thesartorialist.com/photos/on-the-street-west-4th-st-new-york/
Loving Jean's scarf - loving all of these civvies, really!
I liked the first one, but the rest? Your typical hipster versions of something that is not hipster. . . Or shouldn't.

May 24 2012 at 2:46 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyTHANK YOU for making the distinction between "hipster" and "fashionable." It's annoying to se everyone say anything contemporary is "hipster."
Also, Andy MacDonald is really underrated. His art is really great!
he is a very talented artist but for these designs it feels like he lacks vision. Pop is awesome n all but these just feel off. though, more than likely it's me who lacks vision and is a bit off...
