This video was really funny, and I thought First Class was awesome.

Hollywood took some of the best written story lines, swallowed them whole, washed them down with a bottle of rancid cliche and shat them into a shinny bucket. Once this Avengers travesty is over with I hope I'll never have to sit through another cinematic rape of my childhood.

Did someone have you a knife-point, forcing you to watch all those films? You are aware that you're allowed to not watch movies you don't think you'll enjoy, right?
The preverbal knife point was my own fandom and the hope that there would finally be a well made production that blended two of my favorite art forms. Forgive me my high expectations.
December 07 2011 at 6:00 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate downAnything that ignores X3 and/or Wolverine continuity is a good thing. As to BAD STORY TELLING I just don't get it, I thoroughly enjoyed First Class, I don't want a movie to slavishly follow the story telling tropes of a serial medium monthly comic series.

I suppose having characters switch loyalty with out any explanation or purpose is good storytelling. Suspending disbelief is an integral part of watching film; but the logic within the film must still be sound, otherwise the filmmaker is just insulting his audience. No-one is asking for slavish adherence to 30 year old stories, just respect the medium of filmmaking.

It was good... it was better than X3 and Wolverine, but it still lacked in a lot of areas.
Ignoring the continuity of X3 and Wolverine IS one of those low points. A lot of fanboys try to make excuses by saying that First Class is a reboot (it is not, it is a PREQUEL) or that continuity isn't perfect and not that important. Both explanations are complete copouts that actually reinforce a lack of respect for the viewer.
The first half was nice and stylish but then things took a turn for the racist, sexist, and nonsensical.
