Coming later in 2011, DC Universe Online players can expect a little added speed and electricity in their MMO of choice with the Flash-centric "Lightning Strikes" DLC pack. Adding an adventure starring The Flash, Black Lightning and Professor Zoom-inspired gear sets for respective heroes and villains, new electricity powers for players and a new map set in Central City, the upcoming pack will be free for Legendary players and cost Premium and Free players $9.99 on the PlayStation Network or the DCUO website, depending on whether you game on the PlayStation 3 or a PC.

In the DLC's "The Flash Museum Duo" storyline, players will be able to travel through both a past and present-day version of Central City, witnessing Barry Allen's transformation into the Fastest Man Alive and battling foes like The Top and The Trickster. Those who tap into the new electrical power set will have access to "Tesla Ball," "Shockwave" and "Ionic Drain" attacks. Inspiring the use of these powers will be new characters like Black Lightning, Static, Livewire and other electrical-based heroes and villains. The DLC's Central City map will apparently also provide ongoing gameplay for both solo and group missions, meaning it's not a one-time location to run around in.
