Though he was created by by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen and popularized, to a degree, by the art of Hellboy creator Mike Mignola in a 1985 limited comic series, It wasn't until the past few years that Rocket Raccoon got a major chance to shine. Now a regular in Marvel's cosmic titles as a prominent member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the scrappy anthropomorphized procyon's got the clout to merit roles in season two of the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated series, a possible Guardians film and, most importantly Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Capcom's released a new vignette of Rocket Raccoon rocking his trademark laser pistols, among more massive weapons, which you can catch after the cut.
Judging from this initial clip, RR's characterization seems spot on. He's cute, he's vicious and most importantly, he's stunningly cocky. I guess I'd be too if I were a talking raccoon that was effectively second in command on a team consisting of some of the most powerful beings in the cosmos.
