This He-Man trip is giving me serious flashbacks.

I love the sheer amount of theatrical gusto the voice-over actor is putting into his narration - which is, in effect, an effective combination of interactive museum, Santa's Grotto, and patently unsubtle way to flog new toys to kids. I never went to any such event as this, yet somehow managed to possess virtually every He Man figure that existed back in the day.

The whole thing seems even more awesome if you just picture John Noble as Walter Bishop in Fringe narrating it... who knows, it may actually have been him, he's been around for a while...

And it here that I am reminded of some of the Masters' more ureal fashion decisions. It's only the wisdom of age that allows one to realise that, for Skeletor, the purple boob-tube and red panties combo might not have been the best look - even if this was just a temporary sartorial blip during his 'Terror Claws' period.

'Oh, wait - you did remember to pack the 'Terror Claws' for our trip to attack Grayskull, Evil-Lynn?' I'll be wearing my special panties for this one. I'll be FABULOUS! They won't know what hit 'em!'

Even for a guy with homicidal tendencies, a skull for a face and the physique of a bodybuilder (albeit a blue one), it was perhaps the purple boob tube and red panties that might even have put off the moustachioed and questionably-named Fisto, the most undeniably heterosexual of all MOTU members.

And we also heard of Snout Spout - perhaps the single stupidest He-Man character ever created - a cybernetic elephant-man, whose action figure could actually squirt jets of water out of his robo-trunk - never mind his bizarre name, which suggests some rarely-discussed sexual fetish. He's like some great lost and forgotten JLA member no-one's ever remembers to phone whenever there's a crisis...
