Google Maps proves its worth once again with the revelation of what must surely be the single best military installation to have ever existed. Painted atop an airplane hanger at the U.S. Air Force base in Kadena, Okinawa in Japan is none other than the famous emblem of the Batman. There can be no clearer sign to airborne or perhaps even space-faring criminals that Kadena is officially out of bounds. The Daily Mail
reports that the white Batman symbol has been painted over a hanger that houses fighter aircraft for America's 18th Wing squadron, and that it references the 44th Squadron in Okinawa, for whom the bat is a mascot. We choose to disregard this impressive analysis and instead believe that this is specifically an invocation of the Dark Knight.
If that's not enough, there's also a Batman Air Base stationed in Batman, Turkey. It's located beside the Batman river and has apparently been used by a number of nations since the US began operations there during the Gulf War
