While Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church work hard to offend everyone outside of their inner circle, their supposed upcoming presence at this year's San Diego Comic-Con might be best served by sheer indifference.

Creator Kelly Sue DeConnick, joined by husband Matt Fraction and others, has spearheaded the "God Loves Batman" charity drive. Essentially, DeConnick's encouraging those who disagree with Phelps to ignore him at Comic-Con and donate a designated amount of money to a love-based charity of their choice in his name depending on whether he shows up and how long he and his protesters last (currently a projected 45 minute schedule). Those attending Comic-Con are asked to help keep track of Phelps' stay online or on Twitter via the #godlovesbatman hashtag.


DeConnick and Fraction have chosen to donate to the amfAR, while other creators have chosen the Human Rights Campaign.
