According to the press release, the 11-time Grammy Award-winning Empress of Soul will be joining Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner as a member of the Green Lantern Corps, uniting Sinestro, Larfleeze, Atrocitus, Star Sapphire, Indigo-1 and Saint Walker as The New Pips, with the six-issue mini-series focusing on their journey on the sinister Midnight Train to Georgia.
UPDATE: In the wake of this morning's announcement, creator Dean Trippe has leaked news of DC's follow-up to "Gladys Knight," still in the planning stages and scheduled to drop April 1, 2011:
