Hollywood brain trust Megan Fox returns with more commentary on the film adaptation of comics Western series "Jonah Hex," where she plays a prostitute that has, I'm guessing, a heart of gold, and an extremely flexible ribcage. But she's not the only lady of the evening in the film; in fact, Fox told MTV today that "all the women in the film are prostitutes," which is super.Seriously, no prim schoolmarm? No fresh-faced farmer's daughter? No wives or girlfriends of any of the other characters? Just all hookers, all the time?

Despite the myths of the prim schoolmarm and the fresh-faced farmer's daughter perpetrated by puritanical American television producers in the 60s, it's well established that all women in the Old West were, in fact, hookers. I, for one, applaud the creators of this film for their commitment to historical accuracy (even taking time to address the enormous frontier zombie problem created by the Gold Rush). This promises to be the best comic book adaptation since The Spirit!

Ha! You're right. It is nice to see movies finally moving past those tired stereotypes of women as not-prostitutes.

All they need now is a preacher with a dark secret in his past and a Chinese railroad worker who's also a master of kung-fu and it'll be pretty much indistinguishable from a Ken Burns documentary.

I know you're not claiming to be one, but the tone of this post is so un-feminist it hurts.
Im basing this pretty much on the 'calling Megan Fox stupid' thing (somthing you really have no proof of, as the article you link to there is about how she is wrong for expressing her opinion about your hero)
Well, I kinda hope most people see you for the misogynist you are, but sadly the state of feminism these days, I think you;re likley to be called a feminist hero for putting the wrong kind of woman in her place.

I don't think it's "unfeminist" to insult people who behave in an ignorant way. I thought Megan Fox was being ignorant, and that her opinion was based on knowing little to nothing about Wonder Woman. I found that particularly unpalatable given that so much of her popularity has come from fans of movies and franchises with their roots in comics.
Having seen several of her movies and interviews, I can say that I'm unimpressed with her acting, unimpressed with the level of knowledge that informs her opinions, and unimpressed with the ways she expresses those opinions. And I don't see any reason to pull my punches about MY opinion just because she happens to be a woman, which is also what feminism is about.

Also, this post is actually about how ridiculous it is to make a movie in which all of the women are prostitutes, which I did not really expect that I would need to explain.
