So let's get started on the inevitable debate: Do you like the way these Transformers look?

I grew up watching the Transformers cartoon and reading the comics and buying the toys and having the bed sheets and eating the cereal and wearing the Halloween costumes...so I feel a certain fondness for the classic look and style for Optimus and Megatron. BUT - I also understand that when you try and make the robots look just like the cartoon in a live action movie, things tend to look silly.
I'm OK with these designs...for now. Yeah, it's hard to tell where their features are, but I'm taking into account that these are static images. The footage I've seen of them moving on screen look pretty amazing (Transformers on fire + explosions on a freeway = amazing). If the action in this movie is anywhere near as awesome as I think it's going to be, then I don't care that these guys don't look like the classic Autobots and Decepticons. I'm thinking a lot of you may disagree with that though...

Well, I never watched the cartoon, but I dunno -- don't these pics kinda look like toys? Granted, they look like sweet *McFarlane* toys, but still...

I'm cool with the new designs and I've been a Transformers fan for 20 years now. A lot of these rabid fans need to stop whining about the designs. This is a live action movie so you have to expect some changes to add to the realism. I wanna see the characters look like REAL machines instead of digitized cartoons. I also think it's great that Peter Cullen reprised Optimus Prime for the movie.

I think both drawings are the same..maybe the color one is the finished product & the other is a rough draft Either way ive been a fan for the past 20+ years...Only thing about making a cartoon into a movie is Leaving some of the characters out...like
the Dinobots..Omega Supreme Galvatron & all the bots that came along after the death of optimus prime

All I can say is Soundwave & Lazerbeak better be there!
Some Sharkticons would be nice too, but I guess there will be no Quintessa until the inevitable sequel.

I wasn't excited at first with the design, but they have grown on me. I'm looking forward to actually hearing them speak. I hate that "Mr. Smith" from Matrix is doing the voice of Megatron. I think they should have gotten on there hands and knees and begged Frank to do the voice. Excited about Peter reprising the voice for the movie. I did hear that Frank and Peter would be doing the voice work for the video game coming out. I just hope they release a PS2 version.

Soundwave WILL NOT be in this movie, This is the 21st century and this character still uses cassettes....too bad. As long as Prime and Megatron and Starscream are in it, who really cares who the supporting cast is.
